In 1962, Ed McCrudden and Hugh Anderson hence “EDSON” were commissioned to manufacture a carton packer to assist in the packaging process. That one machine lead to what we are today. Edson’s first case packer was manufactured for a candy manufacturer in 1964 and Edson received their first patent in 1966. From the humble beginnings in Ed McCrudden’s garage; to having machinery in close to 90% of the North American tissue mills today, Edson has continued to build on the foundation started by Mr. McCrudden. Edson’s machinery is known for our performance and reliability in the markets we service. Machinery that was built in very early 1970’s is still in service today. This kind of reliability has earned Edson the reputation as an extremely well manufactured, reliable, machine.
Over the years Edson has been developing equipment for many companies and our machinery has case packed many household items including; consumer products – detergent, film; tissue products – kitchen, bath, and facial; food – fresh meats, dairy products, spirits and wines; and pharmaceutical products. Chances are you have recently purchased products that our machinery has come in contact with in.
